James Swatton is the Head of Commercial Sales for Bupa in Hong Kong, responsible for driving new Corporate and SME business across the domestic and international markets in Hong Kong. He also manages the retention and servicing of Corporate and SME clients for Bupa Global, a premium insurance business line with global coverage.
James joined Bupa Global in 2020 as Head of Client Management before taking up the commercial sales responsibilities in May 2022. Prior to Bupa, he held a number of sales roles in the insurance industry, including a Distribution Director position and later General Manager position at Abacare Group Limited headquartered in Hong Kong, leading a regional insurance brokerage.
James has called Hong Kong home for the last 12 years and is passionate about people, sports, and making a difference in the community. He has been fighting the stigma around physical and mental health, hoping to inspire positive conversation, and has worked with organisations like Roundtable Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Rugby Union, and Talking Mental along the way.
